Transient Stability Study - High Voltage Electrical Systems
A transient stability test is designed to determine how your high voltage electrical system will respond to specific conditions. These include emergency situations and day-to-day scenarios. Following the Transient Stability Study, corrections can be made to ensure that the facility can operate under all conditions.
The Transient Stability Study is a simulation which puts the electrical system through a variety of tests. An emergency situation might include the unexpected loss of one generator. To test this scenario, a generator can be shutdown to see how other power sources are able to compensate and if the system remains stable. A facility should not be dependent upon only one source of power so it is important to plan ahead.
